Ideas for a Perfect Morning Routine

Morning Coffee

A morning routine is very beneficial to one’s daily life. It can be the deal-breaker for some of us of having a great, productive day. A morning routine can set the tone for the day.

Time may not allow us to add many “extra” things to our morning routines, but adding one can give you the boost you need. Typically, it is easier to accomplish a full morning routine on our free days and days off, at least it is for me. Do what is best for you! Do what fits into your everyday life. Here are a few additions you should consider for your morning routine:

Wake up at a Consistent Time

Train your body to naturally wake up at or around the same time every morning. Your internal alarm clock will begin to take over and you can throw that loud, annoying alarm clock away. You do not have to necessarily wake up as early as possible but at a time that works for you; although, waking up early will give you the chance to accomplish more. In the end, you’ll begin to wake up refreshed and ready to start the day every morning.

Drink Water 🥃

As we all know, drinking water does amazing things for the body, the mind, and all the above. Water is great for you and drinking it should be one of the first things you do after waking up. Remember, your body is made of put to 60% water and needs to be replenished after sleeping 6-8 hours.

Get Sunlight!

Open those blinds up first thing in the morning! This is a life changer for me; the sunlight gives a great boost to my mood right away. It’s like a breath of fresh air without stepping outside. It is said that exposure to sunlight can cause your brain to release the hormone serotonin, which is associated with helping one feel calm and more focused.

Drink Coffee or Tea

If you don’t know already, I am a coffee addict! Sometimes I feel like I can’t function without – I know that’s bad, don’t judge me! That first little sip of coffee or tea can change your whole mood in the morning. To some of us, it is just like a breath of fresh air. This could possibly just help jump start your day!

Read Motivational Quotes/Journal 📖

Reading motivational quotes in the morning or journaling in the morning is great to get the positive and good vibes flowing. Reading helps by taking in the good word and journaling helps by giving the opportunity to release a good word. Both reading and journaling can lift you out the bed and get you ready to take on the day. I personally love reading motivational quotes as they remind me who I am and what I am capable of.

Exercise 🤸‍♀️

Exercise is great for your mental and physical health. For many people, it is an escape and/or a relief from there every day lives. Exercise can help start the day with a clear, focused mind. You may even feel more empowered to take on the day ahead and keep that energy throughout the whole day. You truly only need 10 minutes to start making a difference

Eat breakfast 🍳

As I have heard all my life, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I believe it to this day. I will admit I do not always eat breakfast, but it is very beneficial and changes are coming for me (pinky promise!). Breakfast can help stabilize your eating throughout the day, help your digestion, and power up your muscles. I will mention pancakes and bagels will not always cut it. Try to adding eggs or greek yogurt oe even fruit!

Plan Your Day 📝

Have a seat and take a few moments to write down all the things you need to get done. I would suggest starting with very important, top priority task first. Get these things out the way so you are not worried about them being incomplete later. Planning your day will give you a general overview of how your day may go and will help with being productive.

Please leave any other suggestions and recommendations of things you do in your morning routine that helps you start the day! I would love to try new things out and see the impact they could make.
