Current Beauty/Make-up Essentials

current beauty_make-up essentials

Do you have that go-to drawer or compartment where all your most used beauty products are stored? I think a lot of us are probably saying yes.  I myself have one of these wonderful places where all my current beauty essentials are. Inside I keep my most treasured beauty items that I probably spent a rent payment on to buy. Naaa I’m just kidding. In fact, many of my most used and current beauty items are from the drugstore and are super affordable!

I do not wear a full face of make-up everyday, but more like every weekend (maybe even every other weekend). Those of you who do, bless your beautiful heart. I can barely wake up in time to put on a decent outfit for work in the morning. However, when I do wear make-up, I have my go-to products that I use 99.8% of the time. I wanted to share with you my current beauty/make-up essentials that I use when I actually do try to look poppin’ in these streets OKURRRRT! Best part is all but 2 of these items are under 10 bucks. I would definitely suggest these products especially my favorite palette right now that you are about to see below.

Of course, I will provide links (mostly Target links because Target is LIFE) to all the products I mention. So let me stop rambling and share with you 🙂

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Powerless

An oldie but goodie, this foundation and powder duo is currently my go-to when doing a full face. Both products have great coverage and you are able to build both if needed. I love products that allow me to have control over the coverage because some days you want chill and some days you want B E A T! Both products are mattifying as promised and feels very light and comfortable on the skin which is a huge factor for me. I really only need to reapply powder about one time when wearing for a full day. Right now, I am in the shade 335 Classic Tan for the foundation and I use 330 Toffee for my powder. I use a different powder shade because some foundations look too orange or too yellow on me due to the warm undertones of my skin and the powder helps tone that down. I definitely suggest trying both products if you are looking for an affordable mattifying foundation and/or powder.

BH Cosmetics “ItsMyRayeRaye” Eyeshadow, Highlight, & Contour Kit

One word…A M A Z I N G! I love this palette so much as well as the creator, YouTube star ItsMyRayeRaye (Raye Boyce) who partnered up with BH Cosmetics to create this magic. This palette offers eye shadows, bronzer, and these bomb dot com highlights. I go directly to this palette when creating any eye look because it offers a great mix of matte and shimmer shadows that are well pigmented and easy to blend. I could create a natural everyday look or a bold, going out look all from this one palette. Bronzer is not a product I use much but I like that there is a color that is dark enough for my skin tone. Finally to the best part, the highlights. SIS! I am in love with these highlights. They give a natural glow to the face but are buildable to give you that extra glow. I don;t know how many times I can say I love this palette but I love this palette! Great for many looks and great for travel as well.

Lorac Refined Romance Palette

This Lorac palette was gifted to me and unfortunately, I believe it was limited edition. I use this palette specifically for the only matte blush color that comes inside it. I do also use the eyeshadows from time to time but the blush is what brings me to this palette all the time. The matte blush is a warm rosey color. I love the way it gives my face warm, romantic look (hence the palette name lol). Being as though I don’t wear bronzer too much, I do use this blush kind of as a replacement but not to the extreme of trying to sculpt my cheeks. So in my opinion, I am getting a 2-for-1 with this blush color and that is always great! Love this blush color and it is definitely an essential of mine whether I have full face or just eyeliner and mascara (my usual look).

Covergirl Makers Brow Shaper & Eyeliner

CoverGirl Eyebrow Pencil

This is my easy, peasy way of shaping and filling in my eyebrows. I have yet to reach the level of doing surgery to my eyebrows and I really just wing it. Calling it surgery is a bit dramatic though, isn’t it? haha. But when it comes to my brows, I am not really too concerned about every brow being in place or having that perfect shape. As long as the sparse areas are filled and my hairs are somewhat in line to create a brow shape period, I am A okay with it. These little brow pencils are super easy to use, give the right amount of pigmentation, and easy to lose honestly lol. However, I still love them and will use them until I am actually more into the eyebrow game.

Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner

Maybelline Line Stiletto

This liquid eyeliner is my holy-grail, must-have, daily use make-up product! I love this product and have been using it since it came out basically. The Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner helped me perfect the winged eyeliner look, which is my go-to look. I love winged eyeliner, if you don’t, keep your unpopular opinion elsewhere, thank you – management! No but really this liquid eyeliner is  simple to use and the pigmentation is excellent. I get the blackest black color and it applies to my skin as the blackest black color. For the most part, it last a good amount of the day but promises at least 8 hours of wear. It has a flexible felt tip that glides along the eye smoothly creating precise control which helps make the perfect wing! I love love love this liquid liner.

Rimmel ‘Scandal Eyes’ Waterproof Eyeliner

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eye Liner

Yes, I love eyeliner. Eyeliner was the first make-up product I ever used because that’s the only product my mom would let me use except lip gloss lol. Thank you Mom! This eyeliner is super creamy and comfortable on the waterline (if applied there). The creaminess helps the pencil glide along the eye very easily creating a smooth finish. This pencil is also super super pigmented. You know I like my blackest black color and this gives just that. Best of all, this eyeliner last all day through the water, the heat, whatever it may be. It rarely smudges and does not run which is very important to me especially during allergy season (rolls eyes). I believe this is the perfect eyeliner to create a variety of looks whether it’s defining the eye with thin lines or going for a more bold, smoked out look. I suggest checking it out for sure.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara brings my natural lashes to life while remaining natural looking. It gives lots of volume and a good amount of length which are two things I need for my non-existent lashes. You can guess what color I purchase (blackest black) lol. The applicator comes in like a heart-shape that makes it easy for you to reach every lash for that voluminous effect. This is also an oldie but goodie and a product I reach for everyday. Love it and gotta have it!

I did not include a lip product because there isn’t one in particular I go to unless its chapstick honestly. Even when I do a full face, there’s a great possibly I’ll reach for my right hand man, Carmex. If it’s lost, I cry about it and frantically hunt for some type of chapstick. True story! As a recommendation, I like a lot of colourpop lip products and would definitely check them out. Check out this post on my blog where I shared some lip color must-haves and they are all by colourpop.

I am very simple girl and like the simple looks for the most part. That is also another way for me to call myself lazy without directly saying it. All in all, these are the products I reach for when I am doing my make-up whether it is a full beat or just eyeliner and mascara, my favorite. These are my essentials currently and some may change at time goes on; some will probably remain my must-have for years to come. All these products are very affordable and do the job excellently. What more could you need out of a make-up product? Check out all these products with the links provided (not sponsored) and let me know in the comments your experiences with these products or if you plan on buying any.
